Open Day - Saturday 12th May
SSSC are holding a taster day open to members of the public on the 12thh May from 10:00am.
If you are looking for a new way to get outdoors and active, or to find something you can enjoy together with the familythen come along and try sailing for free.
Whether you’re completely new to the sport or looking to get back on the water our taster session is the perfect time to give it a go.
The club is open all day to visitors wishing to find out more about dinghy sailing and the club. Come along and meet some of our members.

Itching to get back on the water? Don't worry, it's only a few weeks until the Spring Splash series starts!
Early season series every Sunday from11th February to 18th March (6 weekends).
2 races back to back each weekend starting at 11am. Average lap handicap racing. Prizes for top 3.We are a relaxed, friendly club with good competition from beginners up to national level racers. We have good launching, a large sailing area, all the challenges of tides and waves and good hot showers when you get back in.Entry fee for visitors £25/£20 double hander/single hander, £15/£10 under 21 includes boat storage in our secure compound at the club for the duration of the series. An additional deposit of £20 is required for visitor boat storage for the duration of the Spring Splash series. This will be refunded (i.e. cheques returned) on removal of the boats from the compound at the end of the series.

The 2017 Dinner Dance & Prize giving took place at the Sea Hotel last Saturday. After the fantastic meal and the prize giving was completed we were all entertained by the "Maverick Rejects" late into the night.
During the evening a Tombola was held which raised £244 for the RNLI.

South Shields Sailing Club is a friendly, family club for dinghy, catamaran, and windsurfers, situated at the mouth of the river Tyne. The club is run wholly by friendly volunteers of all ages, and backgrounds.
The majority of our sailing takes place in the mouth of the Tyne river between the north and south piers, however we do venture out onto the open seas at various times throughout the year.
Why not come along to the club and see for yourself what it is all about?
During the year we offer “Open Days” to allow potential members the opportunity to have a go. Look out for these on our website (Events), or come down to the club when people are around, 10:00am, 1:00pm on Sundays or 6:00pm on Wednesdays are when there are most people around (just before everyone goes sailing).
