 Based on the mouth of the river Tyne adjacent to the Groyne at Littlehaven Beach. Shields Sailing Club offers a variety of sailing conditions in the Tyne Harbour or outside in the scenic surroundings off Marsden Bay. The club has been in existence for 50 years and sails every Sunday from March to December and every Wednesday during the Summer. The adopted club classes include Miracles, Lasers, Enterprises, Wayfarers, Toppers and catamaran fleets.
Members enjoy excellent facilities with a large bar/function room, training classroom,secure storage compounds, changing facilities and boat repair area. In recent years the club has succesfully hosted the Hurricane championships, the Miracle national championships twice and the Hobie catamarran national championships.
